30 local Vancouver startups went head to head this week at Vancouver’s Demo Day to win 2 spots to Techstars and pitch to the Alliance of Angels in Seattle. netlek was one of them.
An audience of over 200 watched each company give a 60 second pitch, then voted the 30 down to 5. We made the cut.
The other 4 finalists and us gave a 5 minute presentation and a panel of judges that included Mike Edwards (GrowLab Executive Director); Boris Wertz (2011 Angel Investor of the Year); Leonard Brody (GrowLab Founder & Principal); Kimberley Kaplan (CEO; Offeron); and Kristina Simmons (Emerging Products and Concepts Manager at Lululemon).
The judges deliberated, then voted to send not 2, but 3 companies to Seattle and netlek was one of them! Congratulations to the other 2 winners, Thinkific and Battlefy. We were in great company.
You can read about it on techvibes. Alexandra Skey, who recently joined netlek as a founding partner gave our presentation and wowed the room with her lively presentation style and engaging deck. And by engaging, we mean, she stood on the table and made the audience love her.
The Seattle trip was awesome, the pre-party at Techstars was incredible, and we got to showcase the platform to some awesome Seattle folks.
Many thanks to GrowLab and everyone there who made this happen, Launch Academy for being such an awesome place to get, well, Launched, and to the Alliance of Angels and Techstars for hosting us!
